Magpie Girl 8 in Red – she kept treasures near

Magpie Girl 8 (7.5” x 12.5”)

The red polka dot trim needed to be ruffled and this girl wanted to wear it – lots of it – though some hidden from view under the muslin ruffles.

The red polka dot fabric was only the beginning of her red collection. She has a tiny bell, clip, ribbon, paper, ric rac, buttons and beads in red.

She also likes bits of black and silver: brads, beads, jewelry and various odds and ends. I must figure out a better way to show all the treasures these girls keep in their skirts.

The background is comprised of fabric scraps fused to the batting and then doodle stitched with a few doily patterns and some swirl designs.
