The latest issue of Sew Somerset is out and my stitched cards have made the cover!
I am honored to have my art on the cover – I just keep shaking my head in surprise and smiling.
As with each issue, the publisher does a amazing job photographing and displaying the art.
Inside this Winter 2016 issue of Sew Somerset not only will you find my stitched cards, but my book constructed of stitched fabric and paper is also featured.
The issue is packed full of stitched eye-candy and inspiration. Each featured project sparks a little idea in my head for something new I want to try or has me sketching an idea for a future art quilt.
The publisher, Stampington, has generously offered to send an issue to one lucky winner. I’ll be randomly selecting a winner on Monday, Dec 14th from comments to this blog post and the comments to my giveaway post on Instagram (which will be posted later today). Comment in both places for multiple chances to win. Note: This contest is open to US residents only.
In your comment, I’d like to know: have you tried sewing paper before and if no, are you inspired to give it a try now?
I’ve not sewn on paper but you always inspire me to try new things. Congrats on the cover. Looks amazing!
Congratulations on having your work shown, especially on the cover!

I haven’t tried sewing on paper yet, but 2016 might be the year of something new.
Looks great! I haven’t tried paper but it seems like a fun idea!
Congratulations on once again making it into such an inspiring magazine and this time on the cover!!! Your work just makes us all want to create. I am going to attempt sewing around a vintage Christmas card and see how I like doing that first.
Yes, I have sewn on paper several times and love making cards with it. I keep my dull needles just for this craft and cut out fabric shapes to sew with colorful threads. I get lots of compliments on my cards!
I have never stitched on paper, but looking at your art inspires me! I may have to give this a try.
Congratulations! Yes, I do sew on paper. Like Kathy, I keep dull needles for this purpose.
I have never sewn on paper but this inspires me!
I have not yet tried sewing on paper, but you have inspired me to try it very soon! I am currently working on an art quilt using your girls as inspiration. As soon as it is completed, I will upload a picture for you. Your whimsical girls and guys are so fun!
Amazing work!
I think I have liked everything you have ever done!
