It’s break-up season in Alaska with melting messes of mud and so much dust which is not fun for my allergies. As I await the arrival of spring green, I’ve been stitching up rainbows (dresses and unicorns), flowers and more.
I sit down at my sewing machine, with an inspiration image, prepared “canvas†(fabric sandwiched with batting) and pick a place to start. I do my best to stitch the image with one continuous line of thread, going over lines to darken them and move through the image to create texture or words. Then I pull out my box of markers and begin the coloring.
With each thread drawing, I am growing my skills as I stitch my own story as an artist.
