This girl is ready for spring and her excitement spills off her dress as she heads to a garden party. Her floral flock says ‘hello spring’ (10” x 15”)

For the upcoming April show at the GCVA gallery, I dug into my stash of Anna Maria Horner fabrics to make floral dresses for the girls. I also used a bit of hand marbled fabric in red for the hair. It’s a nice contrast to the indigo floral background. Her heart blooms with joy (8”

I couldn’t make just one girl with a crown of flowers. This girl sports pink hair and face that says smile, discover, leap and create! Each bloom makes her smile (8” x 10”) Oh, yes, it is time to try this face technique on a full girl.

The outline stitching added so much detail to this girl. This was a rare process for me – fussy cutting flowers and leaves, her neck and carefully planning what words would display on her face. I love how the ‘blush’ on her cheeks highlights the smile text. The bright colors pop off the indigo background.
