I added stitched words to a few of the mini quilts. She shares her joy with the world (6†x 9.5â€)

The Girdwood Center for Visual Arts is having a mixed media show next month with a theme of winter playground. This is one of two pieces I created. Kind Heart (5.5†x 10â€) These small scrapbook embellishments are fun to add to art quilts. This one is like a tiny apron.
Kindred Spirits (7†x 10â€) These mini art quilts can seem repetitive, but I document the variety that can be achieved with the same patterns. Another winter girl – fussy cutting her dress made it look like a sweater – so fun. Enjoying the wind blown hair too. She loves dancing on the ice (8†x 10â€)
Happy on Skis (8†x 10â€) It’s cold and snowy her and this girly is the first of many winter inspired art quilts. It’s a simple little quilt, not much embellishment. I love it.
My stitched, painted and glued pieces were published in the Winter 2014 issue of Sew Somerset. Pick up the issue for lots of sewn projects to try this year.
