Another smaller quilt started. The idea of a boy is growing on me.

I created this collage for homework in Lesley Riley’s Compose Yourself class. I started with the paisley paper, added some paint and just kept adding things from my basket of items to put away. Patterned paper, rub ons, stickers, card, ribbon and misprinted fabric faces. Sometimes the misprints create the most interesting pieces – images

So my experiment didn’t go wrong – just not right. I sewed scrapbook paper and embellishments onto a muslin quilt background. It’s cute, but lacks depth. I contemplated hiding this away; however, it’s good to acknowledge that not all of my creations are winners. I still enjoy the process of making them anyway.

I like to give little gifts to my quilt guild friends. I thought spool photo holders would be great gifts for quilters and I have a large collection of wooden spools stashed in my studio, Below are the steps to create a spool photo holder yourself.
