I started this in 2012 for a challenge by the Anchorage Modern Quilt Guild. I had a few of the words and the rows of typewriters done when it was placed in a bag and ignored until this week. Since I had finished so many quilts, why not one more? The words were improv pieced […]

Quilts, Quilts, So Many Quilts
I finished over 30 throw size quilts in 2020. Many were quilted by Northern Threads in Fairbanks – they did a fantastic job. I shipped 29 of them as holiday gifts to friends and family. Now that they have all been received, I can share some photos.

Happily Stitching
I’ve been stitching. Journals in two sizes and fabric covered notebooks. They are the perfect place to stay organized, design plans, and capture dreams. It’s so fun to mix patterns and colors and see the fabric leave my shelves. Speaking of leaving – I have art quilts, prints, patterns, and fabrics that need a new […]
Drawn with Thread
My thread drawings have been featured in the latest issue of Art Quilting Studio! The issue is packed full of inspiration and creative eye candy. As always, Stampington does a fabulous job with photographing stitched artwork. To learn more about my thread drawing process, pick up the Winter 2021 issue of Art Quilting Studio.

“The lessons from the peace process are clear; whatever life throws at us, our individual responses will be all the stronger for working together and sharing the load.†– Queen Elizabeth II Together do so much (14†x 11â€)
Sisterhood
When you have over 60 girls all assembled and used 42, you have to make more quilts! I found this saying and knew the smaller scale girls would be fitting. This band of friends is ready handle all that life throws at them. there is one thing stronger than magic: sisterhood (12†x 9â€)
Stand Together
When I started the piece for the SAQA benefit auction, I couldn’t decide if I wanted the background to be green grass and blue sky or grays of a city street so I created one of each. I created more than 60 people in 3 different sizes so I could have the proper perspective and […]
