Fractured Spring Light
I decided to participate in the Quiltcon Michael Miller Spring Cotton Couture challenge. We could only use solids for the top and Michael Miller prints could be used on the back and binding. After a month of staring at the spring solids, I finally decided to pair them with gray and white. I cut 1.5 […]
Heal a Heart Quilt
On Friday, October 17th, my husband posed a challenge; create a quilt with a giant anatomically correct heart on it. The quilt would be a gift for our friend’s mom who recently was diagnosed with heart issues. Never one to pass up a challenge and it would make great gift, I found a medical drawing […]
Halloween Haunted House Quilt
This is the next quilt for our friends’ year of quilts. They love Halloween so I decided to go a bit crazy and piece together a haunted house with a few spooky figures peering out into the night. Around the house is a sky full of bats. The door is open, welcoming visitors to be […]
Science Stripes

Modern Quilting Display
We put together a small modern quilting display at the Great Alaska Quilt Show happening this weekend. The quilt show looks amazing. I’ll snap photos of some of the stunning quilts when it’s daylight.
Adventures in Modern Quilting
Modern Baby Quilt (44†x 44â€) I belong to the Modern Quilt Guild and a local group here in Anchorage. We were recently invited to talk about our group with other quilters in a nearby city. Since we will also have a small display at an upcoming local quilt show, I decided to make another […]
Love Letter Colors
I had jelly rolls of the V and Co Simply Color that sort of fell out of a box as I searching for something. As I was cleaning my sewing room, I was more interested in making something with the fabric instead of putting it away. So I stitched 4 strips together and sub-cut them […]
Scrap Quilt Part 3
I pieced together my top – 36 blocks each 12†randomly arranged. I like the happy chaos of the top. As I mentioned before kept the more muted colors aside and created a little throw with 12 blocks. The girls and words from a fabric panel add interest.
