The Anchorage Modern Quilt Guild has begun hosting challenges to make quilt blocks to for charity quilts. The blocks due in July were to be 12†finished and use citrus colors. I pulled fabrics from my stash to make orange, lemon and lime blocks.
Orange Block
The orange block let me practice piecing letters and numbers and roundish shapes. It so cute I almost didn’t part with it.
Lime Blocks
Lime blocks are wonky nine patch – I learned I need to keep better track of which pieces go where – seams had to be ripped out.
Lemon Block
I did improvisational piecing for the lemon block. It sort of became a sunburst or odd wedge like thing but ultimately it’s happy yellow.
