Month of Softies – Shoes!!!

I thought a long time about making a doll for the month of softies but somehow a doll wasn’t a self-portrait of me.

As a child I had a fascination with shiny shoes – paten leather. I wanted to wear them all the time. I had a pair with taps on them for dance class and a pair for church. Every now and again I would sneak my church shoes to school to wear because they were so pretty and went well with dresses. I remember getting in trouble for practicing my tap at school while waiting in lines wearing my sunday shoes.

So I made a pair of legs/feet to go with a tiny pair of shiny shoes and then had to have the ruffly socks to match.

Maybe one day the shoes and legs will be part of a doll but for now they are all I need to remember me as a child!
