Ruffles! While pulling scraps recently I found a huge bag of ruffles and decided to add more ruffles to this yellow quilt. I love the all of the layers. Not just the ruffled layers but the yellow fused background from a variety of scraps, giant dahlia quilting, and the girl.
With many of my usual supplies tucked away in boxes, I feel inspired to try something new with this piece. Maybe hand stitch scallops in a different color along part of the top, just under the binding or only embellish the skirt with lines of yellow hand stitching (most of my usual bling is packed).
What do you think this quilt needs?
If you want to see how I create quilts like this, sign up for STITCHED 2015. Each month amazing new classes are added such as Fabric Beads, Needle Tatting (June), Silk Ribbon Embroidery (September) and an art doll class, The Taxidermist’s Apprentice (November). I am looking forward to learning some new skills and practicing some not often used skills and seeing what all the STITCHED participants are creating.
