The backs of some pieces are just so pretty and felt is great for doodling with thread. After stitching and coloring the girls on Play, Make More Fun, Remember and Bloom. I was momentarily stumped as to how to finish these pieces. Using bias tapes didn’t seem like it would provide the right weight for the hanger.
My friend suggested using facing and it clicked for me to use strips of felt for the facing. Instead of hand sewing the felt to the back of the piece, I applied fusible webbing to the felt before cutting it to size and fused the felt facing strips in place after sewing them on. I stitching once around the edge of each quilt as I applied the hanger that I had bent from floral wire.
