A few years ago this fabric was floor pillows. We didn’t need the pillows any longer and they were taking up space so I removed the filling and cut off the pipping edges. The stitched squares then sat in my projects baskets for a year or more.
I stitched together the 6 sides to create one quilt top. In one large cream square, I created a giant dahlia and stitched words about joy and happiness in the other.
All of the other squares were quilted in a different style: square spiral, vertical lines, horizontal lines, overlapping waving lines.
The quilt is approximately 48†x 70†and is backed with a pink and gray striped light upholstery weight fabric. It adds a little weight, but it is still snuggly soft.
