My friend Donna visited this week to drop off a few blocks for an upcoming guild meeting. She also brought along scraps she had just picked up from a local seamstress.
I left the bits of pink satin and tulle, the swirled black fabric and suiting fabric piled on my desk. Later that night I sketched out an idea.
With bits of left over text fabric I created the girl. I ruffled strips of the pink satin, singing the edge to prevent fraying. I gathered the tulle and created a layered skirt.
I stitched stings near the top of the quilt and glued gems on them to look like twinkle lights.
‘A ball gown, twinkle lights, swirling floor: one magical night’ (13†x 18â€)
Oh how gorgeous and enchanting. She looks like she’s ready to step out to prom.
